Does the job, but you can get it for free from Delta.
This piece helps to improve the stability of your faucet installation. It's especially helpful if you have a thin gauge metal sink. I don't, but I still opted to use it because it provides a firm and level mounting plate under your sink. I bought it on here because I saw that others had, but when I was reading the directions for my Delta faucet they clearly said they would send you one (this exact item)for free if you needed it.

This is supposed to be a free part
Kind of ridiculous that they charge what they do for a part that says in the included documentation it's supposed to be free. Unfortunately, if it's a discontinued item, they don't offer them for free anymore... Very nice faucet once you get the thin deck aid though.
Don't skip this piece!
