Don't Bother With This
I wish I would have seen this before purchasing it--it is very flimsy and cheap looking. My plumber refused to install it, even though the bathtub (American Standard Cambridge)instructions indicated that this particular drain assembly was necessary to get the water level to 14 inches. He installed a standard metal drain and overflow with PVC drain pipes, and it not only looks better but works perfectly to get the higher water level. You don't need it.

Something wrong with this drain
My plumber tried for two days to get this drain installed, but no matter what he did, it kept leaking. He said there were too many different joints and none of them would seat properly. He ended up buying a different drain at Home Depot. I haven't gotten his bill yet, so I don't know how much this is going to end up costing me.
Wish we had gotten this to begin with!
Although we had purchased the American Standard Cambridge Tub for a recent full bathroom remodel, we forgot to buy the drain. So, our plumber pieced together something with a trip lever drain and parts from a big box store. A few weeks later when double checking all the work that had been done, we found that the first drain leaked out the overflow, and of course wouldn't hold water in the tub because the trip lever mechanism was designed for a standard height tub. After several attempts to find something that would work & much frustration by all parties involved, we decided it was safest to purchase the Deep Soak drain, which is the drain recommended for the Cambridge tub. This may not seem like a big deal, but the Cambridge tub is made of "Americast", which makes it thicker than standard bathtubs, and it is taller than a standard bathtub.
Our plumber had no problem installing the Deep Soak drain in under an hour's time, though he did have to trim the vertical overflow...
